Several days ago when I was chating with my classmate on Google Talk from Morange on my handset, my friend was very interested in the features of Morange. I told him that Morange is the one of most useful applications on my handset. After appreciating features such as the push mail, instant messaging and RSS, I added one more comment that if Morange could have VoIP integrated it would even greater.
Last night I visited the home page of Morange to see whether there
was any update and found that the latest version of Morange already had
VoIP feature integrated
And like all new VoIP service providers, Morange now is offering 1 USD
credit for free trial to all new subsribers of MoTalk - its new VoIP
service ![]()
Now let’s have a look on how to use MoTalk - the new VoIP service.
(1) First download suitable version (J2ME and Windows Mobile version) for you handset from Morange’s website.
(2) When Morange is running for the first time, the application will detect the network connection (WAP or Internet) and then users are prompted to registrate or login.
(3) Fill in username, password and mobile number to registrate
(4) Login after registration and I noticed that only English version have MoTalk option, which is between two instant messaging options
(5) The dialer UI of MoTalk is as below:
(6) Though the remaining balance on UI was shown as 0, but after filling the destination number and clicking the green “call” buttom, the call was connected and it was prompted that the remaining calling time was 28 minutes. But I didn’t really test the audio quality.
This VoIP service is implemented via callback method and GPRS or 3G connection is needed to trigger the call. The call is established between the registered number and the number filled in the dialer UI. If there is somebody interested in it, please try it and there may be more possibilities.

Just tried this new service of Morange, the MoTalk. Good gracious! Its fantastic! The quality is crispy clear. Imagine, I am in the middle east right now, and I called my family in the Philippines. Its like I am just talking to them locally, but this call goes through a VOIP system. Very cheap. I used to spend around $10 for a 7 minute long distance call but with MoTalk, I spent only $6 and I was able to talk for 25 minutes. Wow! I hope this service will be forever for Morange users.
