Chinese poetry has a long, long history and it's a very important part of World Literature. There are so many beautiful Chinese songs that can stand side by side with the great works of Sappho, Homer, Virgil as well as Shakespeare, William Blake and John Keats, let alone Shelley and Lord Byron.
